Today I wanted to share something with you that is so near and dear to my heart. I asked Brandon to write the story of how he proposed so that I could share it with all of our friends. I wrote “how we met” and I wanted our proposal from his perspective. And all I can say is that if his vows are anything like this, I had better be wearing waterproof eye makeup at our wedding. Enjoy ❤

December (I forget what day it was lol) was one of the best days of my life. It’s a day I had been looking forward to since the day I met the most amazing woman of my life. We hopped in the car mid-day, lex thinking we were just going on a long drive up the coast that I had gone on with a couple friends a few months before. I was slightly nervous as I knew what we were going on this drive for, as did her dad, who did a great job keeping it a secret, yet I wasn’t as nervous as I thought I’d be. As we drove the only thing I could think of was how and when I was going to ask the question and that I wanted it to be perfect. I couldn’t decide whether or not lex might have had an idea of what was going on or not or if she was thinking I was going to propose. After about 3 hours of driving and hearing her complain about being in the car, I knew it was a perfect opportunity and time to find the perfect beach and watch the sunset. We walked down the hillside towards the beach as the sun was close to setting, I laid down the blanket I had brought (which probably surprised lex being that I planned ahead ;).) At this point I started to get nervous and knew it wasn’t long before I would be on one knee asking for her hand in marriage. As the sun was setting, having been there for about an hour, I asked lex if she was ready to go, knowing I would catch her off guard. She said yes and started to get up. As she was getting up, she had her back towards me, unable to see what I was doing. I pulled the ring out of my pocket ( I was glad it was still in there and didn’t fall out) got down on one knee and as she turned around and saw me on one knee she was as surprised and shocked as I had ever seen her. She instantly teared up as I told her how much I loved her, how I wanted to spend the rest of our lives together and that she means more to me than anything in the entire world. I then started to get choked up from her reaction as I asked her to marry me, she said yes, wasn’t too worried about her saying no haha but you never know, and I slid the ring on her finger. It looked beautiful and I couldn’t believe this day had come. It felt surreal, the waves crashing, sun setting on the water, and there she was, the most beautiful and amazing person in the entire world who was now my fiancé and soon to be wife. I couldn’t believe it and I don’t think lex could either. I love you so much Alexis Marie Tuck (soon to be DeFazio) and I know I made you wait a long time for this day to come but I told you it would and that it would be worth it and now we can begin our lives together and write our own story from here on out. You’re my best friend, my partner, and the one I can’t imagine living even a minute without and I can’t wait to start our lives together.
